This is Schumacher's localist apple! It originated in Dartington and was historically sold at the Totnes market as a dual purpose dessert/culinary apple. These very large apples are pale yellow/green with orange/red flecked stripes. This is a sweet sub acidic apple with a crisp texture. This apple is picked early-mid October and can be stored until December. Historically was used as multi-purpose apple; for cooking, dessert and for cider (sharp lemon like juice).
