M9 Rootstock

M9 rootstock gives a dwarfing tree that will reach 2.5-3 m in height. Trees start fruiting at 2-3 years. They are suitable for cordon training. M9 trees will need permanent staking and efforts made to maintain a vegetation free area around roots.

Trees are sold as maiden whips (1 year tree with no branches). The trees are bareroot, so the tree will arrive with exposed roots (without soil) wrapped up ready for planting out or heeling in. Available only in dormant season (November-April).

Apple varieties available on M9

1 year- Maiden Whips
2 year- Feathered
